‘Water’ is a solo exhibition of drawings inspired by Amy’s recent international art residencies in France, Iceland and Norway. Venturing deep into these dramatic landscapes Amy explores the movement of water as a symbol for who and what we are in relation to nature. Amy uses the dynamics of light and shade in drawing as a metaphor for opposites in nature, creating images that hover between dawn and dusk, the material and the ethereal.
Amy Dynan’s contemporary drawing practice merges photo-realism with abstract sensibilities to explore the beauty and brevity of life. Amy uses charcoal on paper to capture subjects, symbols and moments that represent the full spectrum of life. Amy's intention is to use drawing to celebrate everyday majesty around us.
