Amy Dynan’s charcoal drawing practice merges photorealism with abstract sensibilities to explore the beauty of being alive. Amy, an award-winning emerging artist, is known for her dynamic approach to drawing and her nuanced balance between conceptual rigour and classical skills.
'Water' is a new series of work that reveals a new and lighter approach to drawing that herald’s fluidity, feeling and gestural expression. Inspired by her recent art residencies in France, Iceland and Norway Amy ventures deep into these dramatic landscapes to explore the movement of water as a symbol for who and what we are. Hovering between material and ethereal, they are rich in feeling and show a sensitivity to subject and medium all with a distinctly intelligent and feminine nuance.
