Poets in the gallery
Saturday 10 August 3-4pm
Join Poets Judith Crispin and Jenny Pollak for Poetry in the Gallery
Stanley Street Gallery presents ‘Poets in the Gallery’. Poets Jenny Pollak and Judith Crispin will be reading and performing their own poems. The pleasure of hearing the poets read their own work and the intimacy of a gallery setting makes this an opportunity not to be missed.
The Poets:Jenny Pollak is a visual artist whose arts practice includes sculpture, video and photography. More recently she has begun a dedicated poetry practice, a highlight of which has been Shadowplay – a 62 stanza renga written in collaboration with the British poet Philip Gross and published in 2018 by Flarestack Poets, UK.
There are landscapes I want
without having seen them
who wear their solitude like a crown
who every night
settle back into the dark
like good citizens.
Judith Crispin is a poet and visual artist of Bpangerang descent. She has published two books (The Myrrh-Bearers, Puncher & Wattmann, and The Lumen Seed with Daylight Books). She lives in the bush outside Canberra and is currently the poetry editor for The Canberra Times.

were only Japanese white ibis descending in the bay,
the God’s Squad Harleys carrying toys to families
