Introducing is Stanley Street Gallery's annual 1st exhibition for the year and focuses on new, early career artists - artists to keep an eye on. In this year's exhibition we are featuring the work of three artists:
Jackson Farley is a recent graduate of Sydney College of the Arts. He works in a variety of mediums including painting and video, this body of work has a particular focus on old notions of masculinity in the contemporary, he explores phallocentric Histories and notions of 'genius art'.
Yixuan Geng is currently studying at UNSW ART and Design taking inspiration from traditional Chinese paintings ".. they not only show the oriental beauty, but also the philosophy of a positive attitude of life." Little Happiness" is a series of small wearable sculptures which express a sense of joy, and the artists life philosophy - be simple and be happy.
Shaun Hayes is a graduate of ANU with a BA honours, majoring in ceramics. Shaun took part in our exhibition "The White Room" and was a stand out, and will make an even bigger impression when he presents his new work for this show.
