We are thrilled to announce our first exhibition to open the year ‘Soupçon’. ’Soupçon’ is a taste of our programming and will introduce you with the diverse and exciting practices of our exhibiting artists of 2022. This is a great opportunity to meet and start a conversation with new works, one that will undoubtably grow and evolve throughout the year.

SOUPÇON: IN CONVERSATION
To start the conversation, writer and curator Claire de Carteret has spoken to a few of the exhibting artists to dive deeper into their practice and inspirations.
"...I am really inspired by fantastical imagery and the idea of using painting to express fantasy. Dandelion Universe is inspired by my fascination with the shape of dandelions. I think they look like meeting points or universes, the way the layers float by one another on thin stems." - Lily Golightly
"But something nice is happening at the moment – I’ve got back into [the] digital world again but with my new found pencil painting outlook and the whole process feels completely different. It feels a lot more fun and organic." - Jackson Farley
"I reinterpret what I see using the technique of metal chasing (texturing) rather than try to emulate details from nature. ‘Chasing' is the labour intensive technique of hammering with small steel tools across the annealed (softened) silver surface which is secured in place by ‘pitch’." - Julie Blyfield
